Warrior Ridge Dam access
Not confirmed open this yearA boat ramp on the Juniata River at the Warrior Ridge Dam, near Petersburg, in Logan Township.
The Warrior Ridge Dam is listed on the Juniata River as a hydro-electric dam with a boat ramp at the site. How's Your River gives the access type as boat ramp and the location as Petersburg, PA. The Huntingdon Daily News, in a May 30, 2026 column, describes a Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission concrete boat ramp known as the Warrior Ridge Dam access.
In September 2015 the Daily News reported a group paddle that started at the dam near Petersburg and ended at the Riverside Park boat launch in Smithfield Township, a stretch of about five miles. One paddler described seeing bald eagles and great blue herons along the way.
The county's waterways also have hazards. In June 2017 a Fish and Boat Commission waterways conservation officer said a few low-head dams were still in the county, such as near Petersburg or Warrior Ridge. In July 2016 Rothrock Outfitters said it ran its main-stem trips from Warrior Ridge on down or from the Raystown Dam, and avoided the tributaries when the water was low.
