A boat dealership and service center at James Creek that serves the Raystown Lake area and sells Avalon and Crownline boats.

Shy Beaver Boat Center is a boat dealership and service center on Raystown Rd in James Creek. The business says it was constructed in 1985 and began as a small tackle and accessory store for fishermen and campers. It later added aluminum boats and repair service, and it now sells new and pre-owned boats. Its site describes it as an authorized dealer for Avalon, Crownline, Viaggio and Mercury Marine.

The service center has factory-trained and Mercury-certified technicians, according to the home page, and the about page says seasonal storage and local marina service are provided. The store stocks water sports gear, accessories and apparel, and the site lists financing, trade-in valuations and consignment.

The Map and Hours page prints hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday through Saturday, with Sunday listed as closed. The street address is 18605 Raystown Rd, James Creek, PA 16657, and the phone number is (814) 658-3777.

Trail

Terrace Mountain Trail

Not confirmed open this year

A hiking and biking trail along the eastern side of Raystown Lake in Huntingdon County, from Weavers Falls to Corbins Bridge.

The Terrace Mountain Trail follows the eastern side of Raystown Lake, from Weavers Falls in the south to Corbins Bridge north of the dam. The state's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources lists it for hiking and biking, blazed blue and rated more difficult, with no trailhead amenities. It crosses the state park, Rothrock State Forest and Army Corps of Engineers land.

The state describes some of the terrain as remote and challenging. DCNR's Trough Creek State Park hiking page tells hikers to wear sturdy hiking boots with ankle support. Jim Cheney of Uncovering PA calls the trail a great choice for a long day or an overnight hike.

A 2015 Visitors Bureau post says volunteers maintain the trail on public land, and it describes a walk of about one mile in from the shoreline to an overlook with views across the lake.

Lake and water access

Weaver's Falls Recreation Area

Not confirmed open this year

A lakeside recreation area at the south end of Raystown Lake, with a group shelter, a boat ramp and fishing access off Route 913.

Weaver's Falls Recreation Area sits at the south end of Raystown Lake and is reached from PA Route 913. Recreation.gov describes a spot for picnicking and fishing, with a boat ramp inside the facility and a playground beside the shelter.

The group shelter has about ten tables and no electricity. The listing says it is fully accessible and holds up to 80 people, and it takes no reservations through Recreation.gov. A 2021 Visitors Bureau blog post puts Weaver Falls in a list of other picnic spots that can be used first come, first served when not reserved.

The Visitors Bureau's boat launch listing counts Weaver Falls among the seven public boat launches on the lake. The Recreation.gov listing and the Visitors Bureau blog post print no hours for this site. The launch listing gives dawn to dusk for its launches as a group. The Corps of Engineers scheduled a lake drawdown from 23 October 2026. A Huntingdon Daily News report dated 16 October 2026 says visitors should expect boat launch closures at Weaver Falls after 11 November.
