The Bag Of Gold Still Unfound
Did you know? A county history printed in 1876 says a leather bag of silver and gold was hidden on Black Log Mountain and has never been found.
The story, as the history tells it, is that the celebrated Captain Jack is supposed to have hidden the bag on one occasion when he was narrowly pursued, on one side of Black Log Mountain near the narrows or gap. "It is still unfound," the history says.
