Mount Union borough

East Broad Top NO. 12

This Baldwin locomotive, built in 1911, worked the East Broad Top for nearly 50 years. When the EBT quit carrying freight and passengers in 1956, people thought that was the end. But the engines endured, and today the East Broad Top is running again, not hauling coal, but carrying tourists and history.

Nothing further from the county histories. The six histories held here end in 1913 and this story belongs to 1956, so there is no passage in them that bears on it. Rather than attach an unrelated page and let it look like corroboration, this story stands on the sources listed below.
