Big Boy Crossed The County
Did you know? The world's largest operating steam locomotive crossed Huntingdon County this summer.
Union Pacific's Big Boy 4014 came through on Wednesday, July 8, on its east coast tour celebrating America250. The Huntingdon Daily News reported that it passed through Mount Union, Mapleton, Mill Creek and Huntingdon, where it stopped for about 10 minutes. From there it went on through Spruce Creek and then on to Tyrone. Hundreds of spectators lined the route.
